14 Juli The Story of GodI saw an awesome summary of the story of God yesterday! I found it on the cover of a bible. Gave me something to think about and i just think that something like that might draw ppls attention to the bible..
"How God created the world, watched it turn against his purpose, lived among us, was still rejected because he didnt fit expectations, turned everything upside down to get things back on track and now invites you to find your place in, the story of God." 09 Juli Difficult PeoplePeople; they are an everyday part of life. We see them in the streets, we work with them, we live with them and we learn from them. People; God created them to love him but people were people and decided to do their own thing. They decided to turn their back from God, disobey his command and as a result sin entered the world giving rise to “difficult people.” I define difficult people as those who want to challenge you. Those who don’t accept your opinion and want to force theirs on you. I see difficult people as those who are self absorbed and think of their own self rather than giving consideration to others. I see difficult people as those who have their heart set on one thing and will not compromise for anything… Perhaps I am a difficult person in some peoples eyes. My heart is set on Christ and I will not compromise. Christ is God and Christ is Lord of my life. The Be all and End all. Period! 2 Timothy 2:23-26 States (in the NLT Translation) 23 Again I say, don't get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights.24 A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.25 Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people's hearts, and they will learn the truth.26 Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil's trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants. Think about this…how often do we try and challenge others because they do not believe the same things as us? How often do we find ourselves in little arguments about something as small as why style of music is best in church? Now that you think about it, its quite a reality isn’t it? You see deep inside we all have the tendency to be difficult people but God doesnt want us to be. He wants us to approach people in love and with kindness. Someone will not change their opinion or turn to God if they are yelled at, or condemned for not. That gives rise to the issue to street corner preachers which is a whole different story. People will only come to their senses and turn to Christ if it is done in a gentle manner. If people are able to ponder on things, ask civil questions and see that you are genuine in your approach and in your beliefs then yes, God may even be able to make that difficult person turn around. It is only through love and understanding that we can really touch and speak right into the hearts of others. Satan has blinded non-believers in Christ and its only through love and kindness that their eyes will be opened to the true identity of Christ. God Bless you Simi. 15 Juni MARRIEDIM MARRIED...will post pics or something soon

23 April You verse MeA holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said,
"Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like."
The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.
The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Lord said, "You have seen hell."
They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished, plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said,
"I don't understand."
"It is simple" said the Lord, "it requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think
only of themselves." When Jesus died on the cross he was thinking of you!
This is such a true image. It's kinda scarey really. The way we live in this life and what we have learnt will follow through to the next life. If we have learnt how to love each other, put others first we will be blessed. It we just sit back and become focused on the self, we will be cursed.
God calls us to put others first, and to love each other as you would love yourself. He put us first, He died so that we may live and be blessed.
It's something to think about.
God bless

It has occured to me that we are just sitting behind this wall we have built, and letting the enemy basically work their way into our hearts. We have let our guard down, and as a result, the outer walls of our souls have been torn down, leaving a gateway open for the enemy to enter in and take over.
Its not just on an individual basis im talking about, but the Christian church on a whole is also suffering as a result of our inability to keep a guard on our lives.
Im using this example as a metaphor of what is happening in our lives today. The walls of Jeruselam had been torn down, the gates burned, and the enemy was allowed to penetrate in. Devestating for the city and her peoples. Without the walls, without protection and without watchers keeping guard, the enemy has open access to the city.
NEhemiah became aware of the situation.. He was deeply moved. He prayed, repented on behalf of the people in the city. He mourned and fasted and trusted that God would help him rebuild the city that was now lost in ruins.
Nehemiah's prayer. (Nehemiah 1:5-10)
Then I said, “Please, O LORD God of heaven, great and awesome God, who keeps his loving covenant with those who love him and obey his commandments, may your ear be attentive and your eyes be open to hear the prayer of your servant that I am praying to you today throughout both day and night on behalf of your servants the Israelites. I am confessing the sins of the Israelites that we have committed against you – both I myself and my family have sinned. We have behaved corruptly against you, not obeying the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments that you commanded your servant Moses. Please recall the word you commanded your servant Moses: ‘If you act unfaithfully, I will scatter you among the nations. But if you repent and obey my commandments and do them, then even if your dispersed people are in the most remote location, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen for my name to reside.’ They are your servants and your people, whom you have redeemed by your mighty strength and by your powerful hand. Please, O Lord, listen attentively to the prayer of your servant and to the prayer of your servants who take pleasure in showing respect to your name. Grant your servant success today and show compassion to me in the presence of this man.”
Is not this the example we must follow? Nehemiah was so distraught by the news that he was willing to plead with God to hekp him rebuild the ruins. As a result of trust, the wall was rebuilt months later. Yes at times he wanted to give up, yet he prayed for strength to whitstand the scoffing, mocking and the enemies attempts to bring him and his army down.
The Christian church is under attack. And someoen needs to make a stand to mend the hurt the brokenness and rebuilt the fortress to keep the enemy out;. Are you willing to help? Its not easy, you will be ridiculed by those who don't understand, but pray for strength. Fight for chaplains in schools, Fight for illegal abortion. Stand for what you believe in.
Stand for somethin...or fall for anything.,
Blessings

09 Januar Can of wormsOpening a can of worms. Its something we don’t want to do. It’s rather messy really. Once the can has been opened, theres not much you can do about it. And really, its not the easiest thing to clean up. Once the can is opened everyone becomes aware of it, and some way or another, people are impacted by it. I guess it then comes down to who had the can in the first place..and who dared to open it.
Why would someone want to open a can, a can that is filled with slimy, creatures that infest their way into any crack. Creatures that will crawl up your leg and really interfere with places and things you really don’t want them to.
Its rather dangerous really, For the opener of the can,,,and well anyone who happens to be closeby.
Well hey I can now see why its such a common metaphor for unearthing the problems we face in this life.
So often we have things to hide. Past experiences, for example. We tuck them away behind us in a hope that in that place they will be confined, out of sight to others and evidently forgotten about. We don’t want to think about them, cause they either come back to haunt you or creep into aspects of your life that you don’t want them to be. Like a can of worms really. Don’t you think?
Do you carry a can of worms around with you in your handbag? Are these worms weighing you down? Are you trying to hide this can from someone?
Have you bottled up all your feelings and emotions? And placed them into a can… (which mind you getting those worms into the can would probably be harder than just getting rid of them one by one individually I mean, you put one worm in the can and the other slides out…and hey the cans gotta get full sometime, and worms don’t die that easy…not hard creatures to get rid of)
I know this is babble and probably all over the place but what I am trying to say is. Don’t try and put all your worries and experiences into one box. Don’t try and tuck it away somewhere people wont see. The longer you carry them around, the more damaging it will become in the long run.
If you have a can with you, open it. That’s the only way you can deal with the past and move on. Yes its hard, yes its messy but hey think of the relief when all is sorted. The longer you carry them around, the heavier they get and the harder life becomes.
Talk to someone Share your thoughts Lef it all out You will feel a peace when you do
21 Dezember yayersYou get offered something. People tell you not to do it. Your mind says it would be good. The opnions of others start impacting on what your mind says. You try to talk to God about it, but doubt hinders your mind... you fail to notify the person in time about your decision...and let is pass.
Well that happened to me about a month ago. I thought to myself... well i will go for something more acute...little did i know what he had instore for me.
The other night...i was having a chat to God, a chat about where my career is heading, what im going to do next year etc. The next morning. i formally get offered a job. A job in the same place as i was sublty offered a molnth ago. This time it was in an email...from a different person. I realised that i had to take it. I had been ignoring God's sublte hints and tried to go things my own way.
I ummmed and ahhhed about the rehab position because i wanted to deal with people who were really ill, People who had IV antibiotics. complex wounds. etc. I was told yesterday..that rehab is going to be acute rehab. they have totally changed. THey have a large numnber of discharges a week. iv antibiotics everywhere... 3 day post op patients. its great! I dont like surgical cause of obs and obs but i like the IVAB part of it and seeing people gbet back on their feet after a major operation.
I also got to choose how many hours a fortnight i wanted. At present im going 40hrs with an RDO once a month...10, 8 hour shifts a fortnight. but now. im doing 9 8 hour shifts a fortnight so i get a day off every 2 weeks pretty much. ojne week i work 4 days the next i work 5. It suits me well...i can spend more time wedidng planning, working with the youth etc. lol life is toooooo busy but i love it!!!
I START ONJ THE 15th of JANUARY!!!!!!
Thanx for hitting me over the head with it GOD 18 Dezember life in pain. All around us
People are crying
Their lives controlled by pain
They ache all over
They are dying
And we are put to shame.
what are we doing
Do we let them carry on
Letting them continue in pain
Not just physical, but emotional
For their soul cries out
Will there be an end to this rain?
Take a look around.
What is it that you see?
Do you see a land of hope?
People with a destiny?
Or do you see hurt
Do you see pain?
Do you see them crying out
As they walk past
Again and again.
They walk past in the street
And you just don’t see
That tomorrow they may not be here
What will their eternity be?
It hurts me to see
Lost people crying to be made whole
They fear death
But want to escape the pain
They have questions
For there is stirring in their soul
For by the time I see them
It is almost too late.
All of 5 minutes in their life
A minimal hope I can create.
We need to show them
The love of Jesus Christ
Before pain overtakes their life
And their heart becomes blind.
Working in a palliative care setting is not easy. This piece of writing is inspired by that experience. Almost every shift i work. someoen dies. Their lives have been controlled by pain, fatigue and the prognosis that they do not have much time to live. The sad thing is. I have noticed the majority of them die without knowing what is going to happen. They become in that much pain in this life, that they just want to give up and die... not thinking about what is ahead. It saddens me to see the staff saying.. "they have gone to heaven" when infact im sure that that is not really the case. It saddens me to see that yes while the chaplains are great...these people have no concept of God or Jesus Christ, becfure the chaplain speaks to them near the end of their lives. As Christians we need to make a stand. People are dying all around us everyday. That lady who walked past you in the street yesterday, may not be alive tomorrow. That man at the pary who loooked at the cross around your neck.. gave up hope because your lifestyle let you down. Think about how you live. Think about the fact that life is too short to wait around. When you see someone in pain. when you see just anyone. smile at them, help them cross the street. Help them pick up the groceries when the plastic bag breaks. Show your love and compassion. Show that you have something more in your life. Share God with your friends. You will be suprised at how they will respond. blessings simi
04 Dezember so fragile so frailSo fragile
So frail
So sacred
So prescious
It slips away
And we don’t even realize
One minute you are feeling fine
The next,
Your world has changed
your life is on the line
all because of the trend
all day on the sand
just sunbaking
achieving the perfect tan
they tell you to slip slop slap
and stay out of the sun
you don’t believe that a spot on the skin
can inevitably kill someone
well I have seen it
she was only thirty-two
skin cancer took her life…
it could happen to you,
